Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee, Guest of William Jones at Ellwood

Lighthorse Harry was born 29 Jan 1756 in Prince William, VA. He was a Continental Army Major and Lt Col. He was the father of Robert E Lee.
He was a warm friend of William Jones, owner of Ellwood. He even sold Jones some land that became part of Ellwood. In his later years, he was in prison bounds for debt in Spotsylvania Court House, Va.
Jones paid his bond and entertained him at Ellwood and Woodville. It is rumored that he wrote his memoirs at Ellwood.
