The FOWB information tent with Bob Lookabill, Diane Smith, Katybeth Lafleur and Beth Stenstrom manning it. Stonemason is Joe Lafleur, Tavern Life ladies are Ruth Pavlik and Milbrey Bartholow. The house is Salubria, which dates to around 1757. The event was hosted by Historic Germanna and FOWB participated in it.
On Saturday, October 18th, Friends of Wilderness Battlefield, worked side by side with the Germanna Foundation, to present a colonial craft event at historic Salubria. The house, which was built c 1757, is located off Route 3 in Culpeper County. See Google map link below. The day will be similar to the event FOWB used to put on every year called Taming of the Wilderness, which was held at historic Ellwood. The event at Salubria featured living historians in period attire demonstrating the 18th century skills necessary to exist in the local area at that time, including a doctor, a stone mason, basket maker, dancers, colonial era children’s games and tavern life and culture. The family friendly event is free to the public.
