COME AND SHARE A PIECE OF THE PAST

Visit Ellwood Manor on Sunday, May 11th and hear exerts from personal letters being read by volunteers recounting tender and unforgettable conversations  between mothers and sons. Hear what was on the minds of the soldier in the field, away from hearth and home.

These are treasured communications, which have been saved and preserved, and will be repeated with reverence from the written page. The readings are a reminder of the bonds between a soldier and his family; they are a reminder of how powerful the unspoken words in a letter can be!

Ellwood Manor is open from 10:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. House tours given on the hour and half hour by our HISTORIC HOUSE GUIDES.

Refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Scheduled times of readings: 12:00 noon, 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3 p.m…
