A Special Mother’s Day Tribute at Ellwood Manor

Please join us as on Saturday, May 11 when we read aloud from letters written by Civil War soldiers to their mothers, wives, and grandmothers as a special Mother’s Day tribute. Readings will take place at 11:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. The programs will last about 30 minutes. Bring your favorite lawn chair so you can listen in comfort as volunteers read these special letters!
Visitors can enjoy live Civil War era music played by Evergreen Shade, who will perform between programs.
The house will be open from 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. and Friends of Wilderness Battlefield volunteer interpreters will be available to talk with visitors and answer questions.
Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
Event is free and open to the public.
