Friends of Wilderness Battlefield Donates Books

Over the years, Friends of Wilderness Battlefield (FoWB) has donated books pertaining to the Battle of the Wilderness to the Wilderness Branch of the Orange County Public Library. These books are intended to encourage residents to become better informed about the historic Battle of the Wilderness.   Recently another seven books were added to this collection and are now available at the library. At the presentation of the books were FoWB President Zann Nelson, Wilderness Branch Head Librarian Michele Beamer, FoWB board member Linda Resler, director for this project, and Brad Henderson, FoWB member and project advocate.

In addition to the donation of the books and in order to draw attention to the 146th anniversary of the Battle of the Wilderness, FoWB board members Linda Resler and Jim Smith created an exhibit that is displayed in the lobby of the library.  It features books on the battle, as well as artifacts and replicas from the war.

The library is located on Flat Run Road (Rt. 601) near the intersection with Constitution Highway (Rt. 20).
