What: An evening of fine dining and a presentation on Confederate Maj Gen Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson from his wounding during the Battle of Chancellorsville to his death as described by his personal physician, Dr. Hunter Holmes McGuire, as portrayed by Harry Sonntag
When: Friday, June 15, 2018; 6:00 P.M – 9:00 P.M.
Where: The Generals Quarters Restaurant, 32345 Constitution Hwy, Locust Grove, VA 22508

Harry Sonntag is dedicated to teaching America’s history through first person impressions and conducts Living History demonstrations and battlefield reenactments on a regular basis. A long time historian, Mr. Sonntag is honored to portray the esteemed Virginia physician, Dr. Hunter McGuire, Gen “Stonewall” Jackson’s surgeon and friend. Sonntag has lectured on southern history for more than a decade and is consistently requested to portray Dr. McGuire at Civil War events, special historic programs, memorial ceremonies, national park locations, and venues such as the Virginia State Capitol and the Hunter McGuire VA Hospital in Richmond. This year alone he is scheduled to participate in more than 40 different reenactments and programs. He lives in Gettysburg, PA.
